Wham Bam Pie Crust
1 bottom crust
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine flour and salt. Stir in oil and water. Mix until combined, then form it into a ball.
- Spray your pie pan with nonstick cooking spray. Put the ball of dough in the middle of the pie dish.
- Push down on the ball of dough and spread it towards the sides. Pull it up the sides as evenly as you can, leaving plenty of dough at the top so you can crimp the edge. You can use your knuckles if you need to.
- Press down into the bottom rim of the pan too so the dough isn't too thick there, then crimp the top edges of the crust. It doesn't have to be perfect; it's a rustic, bottom-only crust.
- Fill with your favorite filling and bake according to your pie's directions.
Notes
- For a pre-baked crust, prick lots of little holes all over with a fork before baking so it doesn't puff up.
- Handwritten note: "400° 10-20 mins, golden in color" (for pre-baking).
- Part of this printout was covered by an overlay; one step was filled in from context.
